Admission Requirement in Mathematics
Transfer applicants MUST meet the admission requirement in mathematics. This requirement
may be met by completing:
- A transferable mathematics course (e.g., college algebra) with
a grade of "C-" or higher OR
- An intermediate algebra course (or equivalent) with a grade of
"B-" or higher OR
- Algebra I, geometry, and algebra II with grades of "C"
or higher while in high school (submit a high school transcript).
- The Colorado State University Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE).
Students whose MPE results indicate that they are only cleared to register for M
CC130 and no other mathematics courses also must complete units 1-3 of the ELM Tutorial
to satisfy the admission requirement in mathematics. Prospective and incoming students
may take the MPE one time from a remote (off-campus) location. All students may
take the MPE up to two additional times on campus. For more information about the

Second bachelor's candidates/postgraduate applicants are exempt from the admission
requirement in mathematics, though mathematics credits may be required for graduation.
